Be Thankful.

I am sure there are plenty of posts floating around telling you to be thankful this holiday season.

I say, screw that.

Be thankful all the time!

I read something the other day that hit me pretty hard;

¬†“If you woke up this morning with only the things you thanked God for last night, what would you have.”

That morning I would have had nothing.

That’s not good, Kristen.

I guess in the face of something like that you can either be like, “ooh, I suck, blah..blah” or you can change.

I chose to change.

Each day I acknowledge what I’m thankful for. I remind my husband and family what they mean to me. I thank God for the strength he gave me to endure the day and all of the blessing he has brought into my life. I pat myself on the back and thank my body for carrying me through the day. I take a good look around at all the STUFF I have and remember that I am one blessed lady.

It’s not about things or money – it’s about the quality of your LIFE.

Be thankful for what you have, and be thankful for what you don’t have.

Work to achieve your goals and pray for strength when you are faced with struggles.

Life is a gift in itself, don’t waste it.

Place no trust in tomorrow.

My Fall Wreath Is Cuter Than Yours!

So, as you may have noticed, I am as random as I promised. I assume that with a free and creative mind it is to no surprise that I love getting crafty!

Sunday afternoon I sat down in the living room floor with a ton of fall themed items and my lariat rope wreath that has served along side a bandana and a brown ‘H’ as my summer door decor.

I absolutely love the rope so I wanted to use it and incorporate in my little indian corns and some fall leaves…well, after about 20 minutes of zero inspiration I walked away. In the mean time I found an old barn wood photo frame that I got for a dollar like …last winter!

THAT is when I got inspired! I took it back to my mess, er crafting area, in the living room floor and instantly fell in love.

I painted my ‘H’ turquoise-ish (with fingernail polish, actually!) and found the perfect spot for it, and of course the adorable corns! I knew at that point that some ole frilly ribbon would not do…so I opted for ¬†copper colored wire hanger to finish it off!

Isn't it the cutest!?

I just absolutely love how it turned out. I love that it is completely different and also festive.

Don’t stick to tradition, stick to what YOU like!!

Happy fall, y’all!
